A new day, a new blog from Kens Auto Spares in Nottingham

Kens Auto Spares was started by my Father, Ken (short for Kurban) who came from Tanzania in the early 70’s. After a few jobs in and around Nottingham, my father fulfilled his dream and bought his own shop in Bulwell. The shop was a running business (although not an out and out car shop) and was owned by a gentleman called Ken Straw; since my fathers name wasn’t the easiest to pronounce, he soon got the nickname Ken.

My dad’s enjoying retirement now and the business is run by my 3 brothers and I.

What does Kens Auto Spares do?

We’re essentially a car parts and accessories business, but over 35 years we’ve diversified into other specialist products and services like Tow Bar Fitting, Car Key Programming and more recently Electric Bicycles. We are also a motor factor and deliver car parts to local garages in and around Nottingham.

We currently have 2 sites/shops in Nottingham – Bulwell and Carlton Road. Both sites have fully equipped workshops where we repair and fix cars, fit towbars, parking sensors, hands free kits, air con regas, car key programming and diagnostics and lots more. Why Blog?

After we launched our website we were advised that we need to start a blog to generate interest and visitor traffic. Because of the range of products we offer and the different types of customers that use us, there’s rarely a boring day at Kens…so thats the aim – to  post about our daily experiences at work. This will include articles about how we fixed things, supplying car parts, mixed in with some live demos and comparisons of the products we use and sell.

If it gets loads of visitors that’s great, but even if it doesn’t we hope it will make an interesting read for someone one day.
