Bike Racks for Cars in Mansfield, Derby & Nottingham

The different types of bike racks we can provide include:

  • Roof-mounted bike racks – if your car’s roof has rails, then this option might be most suitable, attaching your bike to the roof of your car, giving full visibility out of the back window
  • Boot bike racks – with the mount attached to the back of your car, your bikes will be secure as you head to your destination
  • Towbar bike racks – among the most common types of bike racks, if you have a large number of bicycles to carry, this is the safest way to do so. Towbar bike racks allow you to transport up to five bikes at a time

Not only will we allow you to browse through our bike rack range before deciding on a product that suits you best, our team of expert technicians will also be on hand to expertly fit it to your vehicle.

Bike Racks FAQs

What’s the best type of bike rack?

There are a few different ways to carry bikes on a vehicle. These are:

Roof mounted bike racks – these are a good option for lightweight or expensive bikes which have fast-release parts. It does involve lifting and can be a problem in height-restricted car parks.

Boot/Tailgate mounted bike racks – this type doesn’t need a towbar but it’s not recommended if carrying more than two bikes. These racks involve lifting and are not suitable for electric bikes.

Towbar Bike carriers (platform) – sturdy, safe and usually coming with integrated lighting and locks, Ken’s Autos offers an all-in-one solution supplying, assembling and fitting the bike racks, number plates and tow bars at our centre in Nottingham.

Towbar Bike carrier (hook-on fork frame) – these towbar mounted carriers have a frame onto which the bikes are hooked and fastened on. It involves lifting but is cheaper than the platform types and easier to store.
