Understanding the sizes
Saws are described by blade length and teeth per inch (TPI). A low TPI cuts fast and coarse; a high TPI cuts slower but leaves a cleaner edge and suits thin material.
Working with saw
Start the cut on the pull stroke with your thumb guiding the blade, then lengthen out to full strokes once the kerf is established. Let the saw find its own weight — pressing harder makes it wander rather than cut faster. Support the offcut so it does not snap and tear the last of the cut.
