Understanding the sizes
Drill bits are sized by the diameter of the hole they produce. This set covers 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36, 39 and 42mm. HSS suits general metal and timber; cobalt HSS adds heat resistance for stainless and hardened steel; masonry bits carry a brazed tip for brick and concrete.
Working with drill bit set
Let the cutting edge do the work: steady pressure, moderate speed, and cutting fluid on metal. Too fast and dry is what blues a bit and destroys its temper. Pilot larger holes in steel with a smaller drill first.
