Vauxhall Insignia European Approval Instructions: From the front, pass the two straps through the slots in the mirror arm. Ensure the ribbed side of the straps will be in contact with the back of the towing vehicle mirror body when fitted. Pass the straps through the two identical slots in the strap clips with the ribbed side of the straps. Slightly loosen the two screws in the mirror arms to make fitting easier. Offer the towing mirror to the towing vehicle mirror and position the four inner arm lugs inside of the towing vehicle mirror body. Note: on some vehicles the ends of the lugs may need to fit between the mirror body and glass. If the gap between them is too small do not attempt to force the lugs in as this will cause expensive damage to the mirror glass. Pass the rubber straps behind the body of the towing vehicle mirror and fit the strap clips to the two outer mirror arm lugs. If the rubber straps are not long enough to allow this or will not have sufficient tension to provide a secure fixing when in use, remove the mirror and adjust the straps accordingly. This may take several attempts. Note: do not overstretch the straps as this may cause damage to the towing vehicle mirror body or break the strap clips. Once fitted correctly, re-tighten the arm screws and check the overall security of the mirror. Adjust the mirror head for optimum rear view. Note: Always check the security and condition of the mirror and fixings before every journey. If any part is worn or damaged, do not use. On occasions the ball joint at the back of the mirror head can be very tight. This is intentional to ensure the mirror head stays in place when in use, even on uneven roads. If the ball joint is too tight to adjust easily the towing mirror should be removed from the vehicle mirror, place glass side downwards on a firm flat surface and the arms moved backwards and forwards. Moving the arms in this way with free the ball joint and the mirror can then be re-fitted to the vehicle mirror. The glass in the smaller section of this mirror is convex. Objects will appear smaller and further away than if viewed in a flat mirror
