Tow-Trust towbars, fitted in Nottingham
Tow-Trust is a British towbar manufacturer, and its towbars are what we fit at the workshop in Bulwell.
Tow-Trust manufactures towbars in Britain and type-approves them to the European standard, which matters more than it sounds: a type-approved towbar is designed and tested for your specific vehicle rather than adapted to fit it. That is what keeps the towing weights in your handbook valid.
What we fit
We fit the full range as part of our towbar fitting service — fixed and swan neck, detachable, and the towing electrics to go with them. Which one suits you depends on the car and on how often you tow: a flange ball takes accessories such as a cycle carrier or a stabiliser, a swan neck is cleaner and often better around parking sensors, and a detachable comes off in seconds when the car is not towing.
Every towbar we fit carries a lifetime guarantee on the metalwork and a one year guarantee on the electrics.
Getting it right first time
The towbar is only half the job. The wiring has to talk to the car properly, and on most modern vehicles that means dedicated towbar electrics rather than a universal kit — so the reversing sensors switch off with a trailer attached and the dashboard tells you about a failed trailer bulb. We wire to the vehicle, not around it.
