Thule is a Swedish manufacturer that has been making load carriers since the 1940s, and its systems are built around vehicle-specific fitting kits rather than one-size-fits-all clamps. Fitted to the vehicle, and to the limit
We fit Thule systems as part of our roof bar fitting, along with cycle carriers for anyone taking bikes away. On a commercial vehicle the equivalent job is van roof bars, which are built to a different standard again.
Every vehicle has a maximum roof load set by the manufacturer, and the carrier has its own limit. The lower of the two applies, and it is lower than most people expect — often around 75kg including the weight of the bars themselves. We match the system to the vehicle and tell you what it will actually take.
