The Blue Spot Tools Ratchet Crimping Tool is manufactured from heavy-duty hardened steel with durable plastic handles. The crimps are spring-loaded and feature strong steel jaws and as a result, give a high-quality crimp each time. The three coloured dots on the jaws correspond to the correct terminal sizes as per the following sizes: red 0.5 – 1 mm², blue 1.5 – 2.5 mm² and yellow 2.6 – 6 mm².

Understanding the sizes

Ratchets and bars are described by drive size and length. A higher tooth count means a finer swing arc, so a 72-tooth ratchet needs only five degrees of movement before it engages again — which matters when working in a confined space.

Working with ratchet

Length is leverage: a long power bar breaks a seized fastener that a short ratchet never will, but a ratchet is far quicker once the bolt is moving. Use the bar to crack it and the ratchet to wind it out. Never extend a ratchet with a pipe — that is what breaks the mechanism.

What it is for

Vehicle servicing, plant and machinery maintenance and general workshop work. Extension bars, adaptors and universal joints let one set of sockets reach places the ratchet alone cannot.
