The Blue Spot Tools 145MM (5.7″) Rasp Block Plane is made of heavy duty ABS plastic for durability, it is ideal for the rough shaping of wood and removal of material from plastics, plaster and laminates. Understanding the sizes
Abrasives are specified by size and grit. A lower grit number is coarser and removes material faster; a higher number leaves a finer finish.
Working with abrasive
Work through the grits rather than trying to jump straight to a fine finish — each grade removes the scratches left by the one before. On a flap disc, work at a shallow angle of 10 to 15 degrees and keep it moving: laid flat it glazes, stood on edge it gouges.
