The conical shape provides an excellent angle for contour and edge grinding. Best used at a wider angle of 15 to 25 degrees. Features a depressed centre and are primarily used on alloy steel and low alloy steel. Type 29 flap disc.

Understanding the sizes
Abrasives are specified by size and grit. A lower grit number is coarser and removes material faster; a higher number leaves a finer finish.
Working with abrasive
Work through the grits rather than trying to jump straight to a fine finish — each grade removes the scratches left by the one before. On a flap disc, work at a shallow angle of 10 to 15 degrees and keep it moving: laid flat it glazes, stood on edge it gouges.
